Book Riot’s Landscape of Prison Censorship

Kelly Jensen (Book Riot) and Sarah Lamdan (American Library Association) have released a comprehensive review of trends and emerging challenges in prison censorship. The full article, titled “The Landscape of Prison Censorship in an Era of Increased Book Bans,” draws on the efforts of advocates and Books through Bars groups to convey the scope and breadth of prison censorship practices.

I’m also proud to share that the Expanding Information Access for Incarcerated People initiative was highlighted as “[o]ne of the biggest bright spots” against the backdrop of prevalent censorship and restrictions inside.
